Bradley Crose

This will be the first post in recognition of the life and sacrifice of my cousin Bradley S. Crose.

Army Sgt Crose was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Crose was in command of a six member fire team; part of a helicopter rescue team sent to retrieve the body of Navy SEAL, Neil Roberts, who had been killed in combat during Operation Anaconda outside Gardez. Crose died in a gun battle with Taliban and al-Qaida fighters after two MH-47 Chinook helicopters were hit by grenades. Bradley was born at the Naval Hospital in Orlando into a Navy family and tradition. He graduated from Orange Park High School in 1998 and two weeks later he joined the Army. While in school, he held a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do where he won a Bronze Medal in the Junior Olympics, was a runner-up at both the Florida and Georgia State Championships and fought in the Men's National Tae Kwon Do Championships in Houston, Texas at the age of 15. He was an avid Gator fan and reader, who spent $100 on classical literature at a local bookstore before he headed for Afghanistan. Bradley was proud to be an Army Ranger and was scheduled for discharge in October 2002. After getting out of the military, he planned on attending college, restoring his 1981 Corvette and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
